Abstract: This article explores the cultural and social aspects of life as depicted in the Akananuru, a classic Tamil anthology. The study examines the roles of various characters, including the mother, nurse, friend, courtesan, hero, and heroine, highlighting their relationships, values, and social norms. The article provides insights into the family dynamics, love, and morality of ancient Tamil society, showcasing the richness and diversity of Tamil culture.
