Official Publishing Policy: Perunthanmai Multidisciplinary Tamil Studies Series
1. Open Access & Licensing Policy
Perunthanmai is a 'Gold Open Access' publication. Our aim is to disseminate Tamil research findings globally, quickly and without barriers.All chapters in this volume are uploaded immediately in PDF format on our website and Zenodo for free reading.
License: All research chapters are published under the international license 'Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC 4.0)'.
Copyright: Authors retain full copyright of their chapters. They only grant the publisher the right of first publication in this volume.
2. Peer Review Policy
To ensure academic quality, a 'Double-Blind Peer Review' process is followed. The identities of both the author and reviewer are anonymous to each other. Each chapter is reviewed by at least 2 subject experts. The final decision is made by the Volume Editor based on originality and research ethics.
3. Archiving & DOI Policy
We ensure the permanent preservation of every chapter:
Archiving: Chapters are permanently archived on international repositories such as Zenodo (CERN) and Internet Archive.
Identification: The entire volume is assigned an ISBN, and each individual chapter is assigned a unique DOI through Zenodo. This ensures your chapter is globally discoverable and citable.
4. Chapter Ethics
Perunthanmai follows a zero-tolerance policy against Plagiarism and AI-generated chapters. All submissions are checked using Plagiarism X and Plagiarisma software. Chapters with high similarity to other works will be rejected immediately.
5. Global Translation Program
While primary chapters may be in Tamil, the best quality chapters are translated into English. This ensures Tamil research reaches the international South Asian Studies community.
Note: Some chapters in this volume are English translations of works previously published in Tamil.6. Selection & Acceptance Rate To maintain quality, only 20% to 30% of the best submitted chapters are selected for publication.7. Financial Transparency & Fee Structure There is no fee for submission or peer review. After selection only, the following minimal charges apply:
Mandatory Digital Maintenance Fee: Rs.300 (INR)
This includes DOI allocation, Zenodo archiving, and ISBN registration.
Optional Physical Package: Rs.300 (INR)
For authors who require a print copy. Includes: Printed ISBN volume copy on high-quality paper, Official printed certificate, Courier charges across India
Note: After selection, authors must submit a signed Liability/Copyright Form along with the fee.
8. Print Publication Policy
The Perunthanmai volume is published in a professional format on high-quality paper with an ISBN. Available in both Online and Print formats.
9. Publication Ethics & Misconduct Statement (PEMS)Perunthanmai follows the guidelines of COPE - Committee on Publication Ethics. Editorial Responsibility & Impartiality: Decisions are based only on intellectual content. No discrimination based on author’s race, gender, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, or political views.
Confidentiality: Information about submitted chapters is disclosed only to the author, reviewers, and publisher.
Misconduct: Cases of plagiarism or duplicate submission will lead to immediate rejection and possible retraction.
AI Policy: All research must be the result of human effort. AI tools may only be used for grammar checking and must be declared in the chapter.
